PERFORMANCES

Performances
At Youth Ballet WA, performance is an essential and unique part of our pre-professional ballet training program. As a vocational ballet school in Perth, we are committed to not only developing strong classical technique, artistry and discipline, but also providing our students with real-world industry experiences that prepare them for future careers in dance and the performing arts.
Throughout the year, YBWA students perform in front of live audiences at some of Perth’s leading performance venues, including His Majesty's Theatre, Crown Theatre, State Theatre Centre of Western Australia and Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, as well as beautiful smaller theatres such as All Saints' College Theatre, John Curtin Theatre and Kingsway Theatre. Performing in professional theatre environments allows our students to gain valuable stage experience, develop confidence and artistry, and understand the expectations of the dance industry.
Each year, YBWA presents a carefully structured performance season, including our April Production Season, Annual Gala Performance in July, Stage Examinations in September and our major End of Year Production in December. These performances showcase Classical Ballet repertoire, Contemporary works, Spanish dance and original choreography, giving students the opportunity to perform across a diverse range of styles and productions.
Our annual Stage Examinations are an important part of our training program. Students perform on stage before respected dance professionals and industry experts from across Australia, receiving professional feedback and assessment in a live theatre setting. These examinations help prepare students for the professional dance industry by developing stagecraft, presentation, resilience and performance quality in a formal assessment environment.
At YBWA, we believe that performing is one of the most powerful learning experiences for a young dancer. Through regular performance opportunities, students learn teamwork, professionalism, adaptability and the discipline required to thrive in the world of elite dance training.
Community & Performance Collaborations
At Youth Ballet WA, we are proud to collaborate with community organisations, arts groups, charities and major events across Western Australia, providing our students with valuable real-world performance experiences while sharing the artistry of dance with the wider community.
Over the years, YBWA students have been invited to perform at a wide range of prestigious community and corporate events, including Ballet in Beverley at the Platform Theatre, the Health and Fitness Acknowledgment Awards Gala Night, City of Belmont Christmas Carols in the Park alongside the Perth Symphony Orchestra, Telethon and the iconic Perth Christmas Pageant.
These collaborations allow our students to experience performing in a variety of professional and public settings, helping them build confidence, adaptability and stage presence while representing Youth Ballet WA within the broader Perth arts and community sector. From large-scale televised events to intimate regional performances, our dancers gain invaluable experience working alongside professional artists, musicians, production teams and event organisers.
As a leading pre-professional ballet school in Perth, YBWA is passionate about supporting arts, cultural and community events throughout Western Australia. Our performances can be tailored to suit a range of occasions, including gala evenings, festivals, charity events, community celebrations, corporate functions and live entertainment programmes.
If you are interested in collaborating with YBWA or would like to enquire about our students performing at your upcoming event, we would love to hear from you. Please contact our team below for more information about performance bookings, event collaborations and partnership opportunities.
