AUDITIONS

  • Entry into Youth Ballet WA full-time and after-school programs for students aged 8–18 years is by audition and appointment only.
  • Our ballet auditions are designed to identify young dancers with the potential, discipline, and physical aptitude required for pre-professional ballet training in Perth, Western Australia.

  • Audition Requirements

  • Applicants are required to participate in a classical ballet class appropriate to their age and level. Auditions may be arranged by appointment at any time throughout the year, subject to availability.

  • Interstate and international applicants may complete an initial assessment via video submission and photographs, with successful candidates invited to audition in person where possible.

  • Annual Ballet Auditions – Perth

  • Youth Ballet WA holds annual auditions in September for entry into the following school year.

  • Additional Assessments

  • Applicants may be required to undergo an orthopaedic examination at their own cost. Details of the recommended physiotherapist can be obtained from the Youth Ballet WA administration office.

  • Selection Criteria

  • Acceptance into Youth Ballet WA is based on:

  • Natural physical facility
  • Coordination and musicality
  • Sense of rhythm
