HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Youth Ballet WA takes a holistic approach to nurturing excellence. Our students receive elite dance training supported by comprehensive health and wellbeing services that care for the whole person—body, mind, and mindset.
We are committed to developing dancers who are not only technically strong, artistic, and disciplined, but also resilient, self-aware, and well equipped to thrive in the demands of a professional career and everyday life.
As part of our student care program, students have access to expert-led education and personalised support in injury prevention, recovery, physical conditioning, nutrition, performance preparation, and overall wellbeing. Our health and teaching teams work closely with students to help them maintain peak condition while managing the physical demands of pre-professional dance training.
Students also benefit from reformer Pilates, mat Pilates, strength and conditioning programs, and cross-training designed to improve posture, alignment, flexibility, core strength, and injury prevention. These programs form an important part of our training model and help dancers build the physical foundation required for classical ballet and contemporary dance.
Nutrition is another key focus at YBWA. Students have access to guidance from a qualified dietitian who supports healthy food standards, balanced nutrition, and fuelling strategies to meet the energy demands of training, performance, and academic study. We aim to educate students in building lifelong healthy habits that support both wellbeing and performance.
Mental health is equally important within our wellbeing program. Students have access to counselling and emotional support services, with a strong focus on confidence, resilience, stress management, and maintaining a healthy balance between training and life. At Youth Ballet WA, we believe the strongest dancers are those who are supported in every aspect of their development
Child Safety Standards
Youth Ballet WA is committed to Child Safety based the WA Education Department and AusDance that align with and are related child protection laws. The school is committed to the protection of all children from all forms of child abuse and demonstrates this commitment through the implementation of stringent recruitment and induction processes alongside Child Protection Policies designed to keep our children safe.
We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and dance today, the Whadjuk Noongar people, and pay our respects to Elders past and present
