Youth Ballet WA presents Once Upon A Time, a magical one-act ballet inspired by the beloved fairytale Sleeping Beauty.Our story begins in a grand ballroom where the kingdom gathers to celebrate the christening of Princess Aurora. There are elegant guests, joyful dancing, and a parade of magical fairies bringing gifts for the young princess. Everything appears perfect in this fairytale kingdom… until someone notices a rather important guest has been left off the invitation list.And as anyone familiar with Sleeping Beauty will tell you, forgetting to invite a powerful — and slightly wicked — fairy is never a good idea.What follows is the sort of dramatic chaos only a disgruntled enchantress can create. With one very unhelpful spell, the celebration quickly turns into a royal problem that sends the entire kingdom into a rather inconvenient deep sleep. (Not the polite kind of nap either — the hundred-year variety.)But fear not. Where there is magic, there is always hope.
