Youth Ballet WA Inc. (YBWA) currently provides opportunities to underprivileged young dancers in Perth through a number of initiatives including:
  • providing scholarships to students from lower socio economic backgrounds to fund their education at the Charlesworth Ballet Institute and pursue international training opportunities;

  • hosting fundraising activities (including through YBWA's annual gala performance and arranging raffles); and

  • hosting community performances and workshops in lower socio economic suburbs to encourage participation in and engagement with the performing arts.

Board Members


Sonya Shepherd
(Chairman)
Ms.Shepherd is the Director of the Charlesworth Ballet Institute and has over 30 years experience in dance.
Amanda Sparks
(Treasurer)
Ms. Sparks is a Chartered Accountant  with over 30 years experience in finance, reporting and governance.
Sharon Dalla-Costa
(Secretary)
Ms. Dalla-Costa (BA Dip Gd) has an extensive background in dance, including choreography. Sharon now coordinates the Certificate III and IV Ballet Performance Courses and Dance ATAR courses at the Charlesworth Ballet Institute.
Monique Douglas
(Secretary)
Ms. Douglas is the Executive Director of Propel Youth Arts WA. Monique has a degree in Arts Management and a strong background within the Arts.
Amy Grondal
(Secretary)
Ms. Grondal is a lawyer, specialising in the Music, Film & TV, and Digital Media area. Amy advises on a range of Commercial and contentious matters within the Arts.
Aaron Tenardi
(Secretary)
Mr. Tenardi is currently the Coordinator, Corporate Project Management at the City of Swan. Aaron is responsible for the development of the organisations framework for managing corporate projects.
